Sponsored by St. Vincent De Paul of Fond du Lac County the Getting Ahead Program works for systemic change to end poverty by providing education and support for individuals needing and desiring to get out of poverty. Support the individuals’ transition is given through weekly class meetings, mentors, community agency connections and stipends. In the beginning of March, they expect simultaneous sessions for residents of the St. Katharine Drexel (KD) Homeless Shelter and for FDL County residents, which will significantly increase the number of participants in the program.
